When asked what is the first thing I would do as Mayor?  I would orchestrate more Town Halls, Listening Sessions, and Community Connection places, setting them up on day one.  Both virtually for accessibility and also in-person during different times of the week and month, every month.

I have already served in City leadership, I know my way around City Hall and don't need the introductions and welcome luncheons, I need to work for you.

As I did as a City Council member I would bring the discussion table directly to the residents to hear your thoughts, ideas, and feedback.

How can Rochester's local government serve the people if leaders are in silos and restrict public feedback.  Public Engagement is both providing information, resources, and updates and also leading with the ideas of people here in Rochester.

When I was a Council member I would listen for hours and hours each week on the phone with residents who called me up to tell me about issues in the city, about ideas, and about solutions.

I would listen and uphold the voices on residents serving boards and commissions and be present in the community.  Residents come first always.

Many neighbors in Rochester are struggling to stay in their homes with rising costs, skyrocketing home prices, and taxation. Rochester has a dire housing crisis that needs collaboration, commitment, and creativity to create permanent affordable housing. When my children and I faced financial challenges, we waited in line at CFR (Community Food Response) listening to stories of neighbors who worked multiple jobs yet still could not afford their increasing rent/mortgage. When I volunteer at the Warming Center, I listen to barriers of people experiencing homelessness. The main challenge is simply the lack of affordable housing. In addition to firsthand listening to struggles, I have reviewed research like the Maxfield study, and connected with leaders in different levels of government share ideas, combine resources, and utilize existing tools, like grants, state/federal programs, and TIF (tax increment financing). Trust is in the details. It is the responsibility of an elected official to protecting your tax dollars.  I have done this by continuing to ask for fiscal transparency, cutting departments/consultant wasteful spending, demanding governmental records, and being a strong and unwavering voice Rochester's residents. I did this as a City council member and will continue to do so as mayor. Read More ...

I am deeply honored and humbled to have served on our City Council for four years elected in 2020.

Life is interconnected, and we are all in this together.  Sadly we live in a world of growing conflict, adversity, and high inflation.  After recent events, dozens of residents, from both political parties, have asked me to run for Mayor of Rochester. I would love your continued support to help me advocate for a more inclusive, just, and compassionate City for everyone.

Thank you, for placing your trust in me. I always take time to listen with the intent to understand people’s stories, concerns, and needs. My voting record proves my integrity and that I fulfill my promises.

As a Rochester City Council member:

  • I have been the deciding vote on affordable housing projects, so generations will have a home.

  • I voted to increase tree canopies in the UDC and support clean water, electric transportation and sustainable energy.

  • I support safe streets by having crosswalks installed. And support and fund public safety and advocate for mental health.

  • I support places of belonging like our parks and award-winning library.

  • I believe strongly in collaboration with other governments and community partners.

  • I stood up against cronyism, and will not bow to money/power. I call out potential conflicts of interest and demand competitive bidding and financial audits of City departments.

  • I am the only council member who attended the close door meeting and voted against selling downtown property without competitive bidding.

  • I ask hard questions to protect tax dollars and one of the few Council members who listened to community concerns and called for department records to crack down on wasteful spending.

  • I did not vote for the high increase in your property taxes all four years of term due to the lack of transparency.

No one is above the law, and our government cannot be done behind closed doors. People's voices cannot be silenced, and I believe you have the right to know where your tax dollars are spent.
I have a proven track record of commitment and loyalty to residents in Rochester. Facts matter, Integrity matters, people matter. Transparency is trust.
I am humbly honored to have the privilege and blessing to be a public servant for Rochester residents. I will continue to guarantee that your voice will be part of the policy discussion.

Please Vote (on or before) August 11th to have me as the next Mayor of Rochester.
